Neuropsychological consultation
A neuropsychologist is a specialist dealing with the examination of the correlation between brain functioning and human behaviour. Neuropsy-chological consultations are primarily designed for patients who experience disturbances of the central nervous system due to accidents, brain injuries, brain tumours, and diseases of the nervous system, as well of for elderly patients with symptoms of dementia.
Consultation with a neuropsychologist may also help when:
- you have problems with memory or concentration,
- you find it difficult to perform daily activities, including movement,
- you notice (yourself or your close family) progressive loss of independence.
A neuropsychologist diagnoses patients by assessing their cognitive functions. S/he examines their memory, speech abilities, concentration skills and abstract thinking. Neuropsychology makes use of miscellaneous standardised tests and experimental methods. The history taken from the patient and his/her family members is also extremely helpful in the assessment of the patient.
Duration of the consultation appointment: 60 minutes.
Patients must arrive not later than 15 minutes before their scheduled appointment.
Services can be performed only in the medical centre indicated during the purchasing procedure.
