Speech-language therapy – children and youths
A paediatric speech therapist is responsible for the diagnosis
and therapy of speech disorders. The physician also identifies and
treats the organic or mental causes of such dysfunctions. The
objective of a speech therapy in children and youth is to improve
the communicative function through gradual correction of the
disturbances occurring in communication.
Moreover, speech language therapy aims at:
- correcting speech defects;
- improving the quality of linguistic, respiratory and vocal
functions;
- developing the active and passive vocabulary;
- enhancing the reading and writing techniques.
Duration of the consultation appointment: 30 minutes.
Patients must arrive not later than 15 minutes before their
scheduled appointment.
